Sam Rush joined Wasserman Media Group in 2006 following the acquisition of SFX Sports Group (Europe) Limited and now serves as President of Wasserman’s Soccer/Football division. Based in Wasserman’s London office, Rush oversees the management of more than 400 of the sport’s biggest stars from the U.S., U.K., and across Europe. A full-service division, Rush’s Soccer/Football group’s capabilities also include sales, consulting, academies and events and tours.
Prior to that, Rush served as International Chief Operating Officer, overseeing substantial growth of the international operations as the company continues to hold a dominant position in the marketplace.
Before joining Wasserman, Rush ran the European business of SFX Sports, building it into the market leader in its field. Before that, he was responsible for the European legal and business affairs of Clear Channel Entertainment. Rush has also served as a practicing lawyer with leading commercial law firms Bird & Bird and SJ Berwin in London, where he was a recognized leader in the legal sports and entertainment fields.
Rush is a director and current treasurer of the British Association for Sport and Law, a director of the Association of Football Agents, and was appointed by Sport England in 2005 as a non-executive director of the Amateur Boxing Association. Additionally, Rush is a regular speaker on sport business matters and was listed in the Times’ top 100 influential people in sports in both 2009 and 2010, as well as among the top 20 sports agents in the world listed by Sports Business International in 2009.
Rush played professional rugby for Saracens in the English First Division and is a scholar and graduate of Mansfield College, Oxford, where he was also awarded a double blue in Rugby Union and Rugby League.
Rush currently resides in London with wife Caroline and children Ella and Johnny.
